Prayer Plan Privacy Policy

Effective 2 November 2026. This replaces the policy effective 10 July 2024.

This policy explains how the Prayer Plan app (the "App") handles information. Prayer Plan is a free Catholic prayer companion for iPhone, iPad and Android. It was created by Gareth Evans (referred to below as "we" or "us").

The short version

Information stored on your device

Prayer Plan keeps your preferences on your device so the App works the way you set it up. This includes which prayers you have chosen to show or hide, the order of your prayers, your language and wording choices, your reminder times, your prayer streak and your prayer counts. This information stays on your device. If you delete the App, it is removed with it.

Information we may collect

The App may collect limited information about how it is used and how it performs. This can include which features are used, the App version, your device type, operating system version, language, crash and performance information, and an identifier generated for the App on your device. This information is used to fix problems and to understand which features are useful. It is not linked to your name or identity, and we do not try to identify you from it.

Network connections

Some parts of the App, such as updated Gospel readings and the 10 Minutes with Jesus audio list, are downloaded from online servers. Like any internet connection, this means your IP address is visible to those servers and may appear in routine technical logs. We do not use these logs to identify you or to build a profile about you.

Notifications

If you choose to set prayer reminders, the App asks for permission to send notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your device. You can change or turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.

Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own purposes. The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, which have their own privacy policies covering your use of those stores:

We may disclose information if required to do so by law.

Children

Prayer Plan is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take the necessary steps.

Your rights and deleting your data

Because the App does not collect your name, email address or other identifying details, most of your information is held only on your device and you can remove it at any time by deleting the App. If you are in the UK or European Economic Area and would like to ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, please contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

Information sent between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit. We take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we handle.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above.
